A standard basically means the agreed-upon and repeatable way to do something. A standard is a printed document that includes technical specifications, or consistent rules, guidance information or definitions designed with explicit criteria. Standards are prepared for improving the efficiency and reliability of various services and goods that we use and also to make life easier.  They describe the agreed-upon best practices, not the general practices.

The standardization of manufactured materials has arised from the need to group a specific quality of material under the same name and coding system, and thus use a common language. Today, there exist many standards based on various requirements. SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers), AISI (American Iron and Steel Industries), ASTM (American Society of Testing Materials), NE (National Emergency), EN (European Norms), TS (Turkish Standards)
